Customer Order White French dresser...

Seen this vintage 1980s french dresser made by Dixie
at a thrift store, but didn't get it.
Customer calls me a week later and asked if I had
any french 6 drawer or 9 drawer dressers with
a max 70"w/21"d.
I was like yeah but I didn't get it!
So, I went back and thank you God it was still there.

Before above and below.

Sent her a picture and she took it.

Cleaned the hardware because she wanted them painted black.

Stripped the wood parts.

Sanded the sides and top formica.
Repaired a metal slide because it was missing.

Primed and then painted in Benjamin Moore white.
Painted hardware in a flat black.

She wanted a white clean finish.

Customer Order..Dorian Gray Italian Provincial Dresser

I started up customer orders on a case to case basis.
I had stopped for 10 months to get some of my
own pieces out for sale.  Plus, started a new format on how I will be
taking customer orders now too.

This was her husbands childhood dresser that he had
since he was 5 year sold!
They wanted it in Dorian Gray with a dark stained top.
Before above.  Had some veneer damage on one of the drawers and top
corner side.

We repaired all the missing chipped veneer.
Sanded it down.
Stripped the top.

Primed it.

Stained the top in Kona.
It came out beautiful with all that grain showing.

Painted in Dorian Gray.
She wanted to keep the original hardware.
I think it was an excellent choice too.

Top coated everything in a satin sealer.

Looks amazing! Her husband was so happy with the outcome too!

French Provincial China Cabinet......

This french provincial china cabinet was in our current
inventory available as is or if a client wanted it custom
painted in a style they chose.
A new client was referred to us from someone else and scheduled
an appt with us to come view this cabinet.  She also wanted
to see our work up close, as she seen it numerous times online and loved it.
She had been following us quite a while and was very glad she
finally came to us!  She had such kind words for us on my
look and design I had.  Plus, she loved the finish we did on
furniture also.  She said as she was feeling one of my finished pieces
"It's so smooth and flat!  Even the chalk painted one is so smooth.
The latex finished one is the same, so smooth.  I love your work!"
As a custom furniture painter I'm sure you know,
I LOVE to hear that!!
Well, let's get to this beautiful piece shall we?
Here is the before below.

She was the 3rd new client who loved the deep gray dresser
I had painted in my own design and put up for sale back
in Nov. 2016.  Needless to say, she wanted that color,
look, and design on this china cabinet.  She LOVED
that look and color.

This was painted in Annie Sloan chalk paint.
I had custom mixed the color.

Aged it all with no distress.

Painted the hardware silver and aged that also.

We paint all the hardware you can see.

Painted the inside and aged that as well.

She wanted the metal decor taken off the
left and right windows.  Took off all the glass
even the one on the door.

She didn't need the inside painted.

Smooth flat finish.

She absolutely loved it!!
I love how it came out, so beautiful!!

Restoration Hardware French Twin Bed.....

One of our wonderful repeat clients from 2014 came
back to us and picked this french provincial twin bed
out of our inventory.  She wanted it to match her previous pieces
she purchased from us and had us custom paint them in
restoration hardware colors and designs.
They where all done at different times.  She is very patient
and waits for the perfect pieces we get in that she likes.
Here is the before of the twin bed.

We stripped it down and she wanted us to remove all the spindles
to make it more modern and unisex for her little boy.

Next we primed it.

Then I painted it the color she wanted which was
a restoration hardware paint.

Did the detail in a restoration hardware paint also.
I didn't have to be perfect on the detail either!
The design is meant to look imperfect.

Distressed certain areas to show some wood and some primer.

Looks fantastic without the spindles!
Here are all the pieces below we have furnished and custom painted
for her.  All in the same style and all french.
We custom made the french chest it was actually a
highboy.  We then made her the baby changing table and
made it removeable with hinges.  You can
search my blog for that post under "Restoration Hardware".
